It means that I have been tested for the knowledge, skills and practical ability to carry out electrical work to the national standards and requirements for electrical installations as laid down in the IEE Wiring Regulations; BS7671 – which is presently in its 17th Edition.

As an Approved Contractor and Part P Electrician with ELECSA; the work I carry out, the paperwork I maintain and even the equipment I use, is inspected on an annual basis. This is to ensure it complies with the required standards to enable me to; inspect, test and certify all of my own work.
